Moving is a LOT of work

The title says it all.  And I am SO GLAD that I am not moving for a long time.  (Or at least that's what I keep telling myself... Derrick thinks we will move a lot sooner than I think, so I just choose not to listen.)

I was hoping to have pictures of my new place up by now, but you just can't get much done with two little boys, a husband home 24/7, and the fact that it's summer and we are definitely keeping busy.  And for some reason, I just don't know how to be productive (as least unpacking and cleaning wise) when Derrick is home.  Maybe I just got in the habit of enjoying my time with him when he was gone all the time, but him being home without work for 2 months has really not allowed me to get ANYTHING done but the BARE minimum.  Maybe one day I will learn to work while he's here, but I don't have to until September.  His first day of school was today and he doesn't have another break until September.  So maybe I can finally put a house together?  Or at least finish painting the front room so it can all be one color?  I guess that is now up to Aaron and Trae cooperating with me. ha ha

But here are "fun" pictures taken during the move.  Just looking at them makes me tired!  I am so glad we are done with this!  And hopefully much sooner than later I can post the after pictures of our new house!  Wahoo!

Go figure the ONLY organized place in the entire apartment... my food storage! Yeah!

Camping!

My parents bought a 40 foot trailer last summer and has been wanting us to go camping with them ever since.  Finally last month we did.  And  it was a blast!  Aaron especially had so much fun.  We found out that Trae has really bad allergies and struggled to breath the whole time, but other than that it was a lot of fun.
Aaron helping place the blocks around the tires.

Sitting in their camp chairs!

Aaron had to have a turn in Trae's as soon as we got him out.

Trae was moved to this chair :) We felt it was a little more safe.

This is a Wonder Oven and is SO COOL!  GREAT way to cook food!

We baked bread in aluminum cans overnight.  It was really fun.

Aaron getting on his helmet to ride the 4-wheeler.

Aaron and I getting ready to ride!  He didn't really know what to think... the loud engine kinda scared him.

He LOVED the ride!  Didn't ever want to get off and carried his helmet everywhere.

Getting a ride with daddy.

Going for a crazy ride in the truck up the mountain.

Trae slept even though the ride was quite bumpy.

Both kids conked out super fast on the way home from camping.

Five months goes way too fast

I absolutely cannot believe that my baby is 5 months!!  Time really does go way too fast!  Especially when you have been as busy as we have the last month. :)

Trae started sitting up pretty much on his 4 month birthday.  He is onto even moving to his stomach from sitting to reach for a toy.  It's still mostly an accident, but he is definitely learning fast.  He rolls all over.  All the time.  Makes diaper changes and putting clothes on REALLY difficult.

Trae is now 20 pounds, so I really got to be deciding and buying a new carseat.  I don't know if I want a second one like Aaron's or get Aaron in one that also has a booster seat.  Decisions, decisions.

Trae really struggles in the heat.  So mostly, he just hangs out in his diaper everyday.  And if he wears any clothes, it's only a onesie.  I don't have any shorts for his size paticularly, but I don't want to buy anything as he is just growing so fast.  I bought him an outfit for Easter and it was too small before Easter even came.  So he just gets to deal with the clothes I already have until he slows down a little bit. :)

There is not much new with Aaron.  He doesn't change as quickly.  He sure is enjoying time with Trae now though.  He loves to have Trae in his bed for stories and always wants me to leave Trae with him.  He is constantly hugging him.  Aaron will also make this ridiculously fake laugh to get Trae to laugh.  It's really fun to watch.  One thing Aaron doesn't like is Trae playing with all of his old toys.  Aaron takes them and says "mine!"  So Aaron is learning how to share on a whole new level. :)  But mostly, he is really good with Trae.

Derrick and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on Tuesday.  We went to Cherry Hill and then saw Brave.  We actually got a real date!  We haven't had a "real" one since before Trae was born.  Trae would eat every two hours and NOT take a bottle!  This made it extremely difficult for me to ever leave him.  If we ever got a break, it was short as Trae would be hungry very shortly.  The best we did was do dinner, rush back to feed Trae, see a movie, and rush back again.  And usually Trae was still starving and screaming so we rarely even did that.  Right before we moved, we started training Trae to take a bottle.  He cried for a long time and Derrick had to do it as I didn't have the heart.  I just wanted to break down and nurse him.  So it was rough, but it's definitely worth it now.  And also since now he takes a bottle, I have been trying to stretch his feedings.  Every 2 hours for a 5 month old is just ridiculous.  No wonder he is such a chunk.  And now that he takes a bottle, I have learned he was only eating maybe 3 ounces at a time.  Now he goes longer and eats more!  Yeah!  Aaron was not this hard in this category, that's for sure.  But hopefully I can get Trae to sleep through the night sooner.  That's the current project going on with Trae. :)

And here are the pictures.  I really need to learn to NOT post every picture I take!  I don't mean to overwhelm anyone who reads this blog.  I kinda use this as a journal now and it also saves my pictures in case my computer crashes again!  Yeah!

4 months old!

Now fits Aaron's old outfit! (When Aaron was 1!)

Sitting up!

Helping to buckle the car seat

Trae was crying in the car... this was Aaron's reaction

Aaron kept telling me to put more on... Trae was just a little bit overwhelmed

Scooting and scooting!

The cutest hat ever that Derrick's student made him...  The front says "I teach" and the back says "Whats your super power?"

Getting stories at bedtime!

Full of hugs

And kisses

Another outfit Aaron wore not too long ago.

We went bowling with my dad.  Aaron LOVED it.  We'd have him sit and watch when it wasn't his turn.

Waiting for the ball to come back.

Another bed time.

Aarons LOVES watermelon.  He was showing down so fast with these big pieces.

Falling asleep while eating fries in the car.

And Trae was wide awake!  Couldn't help bu take a picture of him too!

Went to the sidewalk chalk festival at the Gateway.  This chalk drawing seriously looked like a picture!

Made Trae his bear at build-a-bear!

Making the birth certificate.

Getting a heart.

Putting the heart inside.

Giving the bear a bath.

Waiting in line to buy it.

Trae LOVES it!  So cute!

Aaron and I went to the Riverdale splash pad.  Fun, right?

Nope... this is as close as he got to it.

Has a REALLY messy face.

Playing with some blocks together.

Hanging out!

Did this for tummy time (helps it not be so hard to lift their head) and he was happy playing like this for 30 min!  Longest tummy time ever!

And this is how he told me he was done... he fell asleep.

Aaron sleeping under the fitted sheet again.

Trae is starting to sleep on his side and I think it is SO cute!

Look at those rolls!  I am in LOVE!!

Trae takes a bottle!  It was a lot of work to train him to do so, and especially while we were packing and moving, but now it's paying off.  Derrick and I got our first real date since before we had Trae on our anniversary!  Yeah!

Aaron fell asleep reading a book.

At the new house we pulled this toy out.  Trae is super intrigued by it.

Aaron would push Trae's hands away and say "mine."

Aaron now throwing a fit cuz I told him to stop. ha ha
