Oh Florida :)

Our vacation to Florida was absolutely amazing.  And much more needed than Derrick or I thought.  We haven't vacationed like this ever together.  Our honeymoon was a quick and easy drive to Colorado, our first anniversary was a one night hotel stay in Salt Lake (I had a two month old nursing child so we weren't gone for long) which resulted in us just passing out as soon as we got there, and that's the last time we "left" since we had kids.  (I hardly count that as leaving really... one night where you left late the night before, and rush back the next day because you are nursing?)  We haven't even done anything besides just dinner on an anniversary since either!

So it was AMAZING to go away with no kids and enjoy each other, as all you parents out there know, you just don't get time alone.  We've made a resolution to not go this long without kids again.  Ever.  Even if it's just a weekend somewhere cheap.  Makes me happy. :)
I don't want to go on and on about details, but here are hilghlights in pictures

Outside Gatorland.  It was like a zoo for Alligators (and other animals).

Had these white (not albino) gators with BLUE eyes!  It was crazy!

This guy did a show and was crazy... I wouldn't ever do what he did with an Alligator!  He was pretty funny too.

Swimming in the ocean

I thought they were crazy cuz I was FREEZING!

Our first dinner on the cruise.  People were making fun of Derrick's (lack of) smile, so he pulled this one.

I volunteered Derrick to be in a show.

He won alcolhol!  We gave it to the guy who cleaned our room.  He was really grateful.

Outside the ship at Key West.

Of course he poses for a picture when I am not there. (Derrick really doesn't like to take pictures.)

Formal dinner on the cruise

On the beach at Cozumel Mexico.  We swam and laid in hammocks.  And had some rockin Mexican food.  It was so good.

Went to Evergaldes National Park and the Gators aren't fenced!  Derrick kept wanting to touch this guy, but I wouldn't let him.  I just didn't think it was the safest move... specially since this one is completely wild!

The backyard of where we stayed at Long Key (Florida Keys).

Kayaking in the ocean

Where we went snorkeling.  The water had many different shades of blue!  It was cool!  Also saw dolphins swimming on our boat ride to this place.

Getting ready to snorkel!

Derrick checking out the reef.  I inhaled ocean water (I don't recommend it) and got cold, so I decided to be done a little earlier.
There you have it!  It was amazing!

Whats up with the Bunns

It's been a way long time.  We have kept really busy, and I haven't felt well in a long time.  But yes, the biggest news is that I am pregnant.  I really didn't expect a new baby to happen as quickly as it did but God definitely has a sense of humor.  I had a miscarriage just the month before getting pregnant with this one and thought for sure since we didn't wait (even though we were preventing to give my body a break), that we would lose this one too.  But nope, this fighter has held on strong!  And on the monumental 14 week appointment, baby waved their hand at us as if to say "I'm still here."  It was a very happy day.

So we are absolutely ecstatic.  And it's good this one is holding on and good I have learned what a miracle and a blessing a healthy baby is, as this pregnancy has been seriously kicking my trash.  I could write an entire book about all of the things that have been difficult, but then that would be complaining and I would do this 100 times over for a healthy baby!  :)  And with the kids being sick (off and on and taking turns and at the same time...) for over a month certainly didn't help.  We were completely out of commission the whole month of December and half of January (I think my ward and certainly my young women thought I went inactive) but I think we are through it!  It took me to 17 weeks along to start feeling better (and I still have back track days), but we survived!!  Yeah!!  And we have a healthy baby coming our way!

Anywho, onto my other children.  Trae FINALLY is done cutting teeth (he was cutting teeth the same time he was sick poor kid) as his nose has finally stopped running.  He cut 5 teeth and a two molars in the last three months so he really looks like a different kid.  He also got a haircut and his hair no long stands up crazy. :(  He still runs, climbs, and gets into everything he can so he definitely keeps me on my toes.  I am just grateful he is feeling better.  He got hit the worst this winter... caught a cold, got better, got croup and was wheezing/had difficulty breathing, finally got better, then got croup again!  Even started it a third time just before we left for Florida.  Thank goodness we now have learned what works and kicked that in like three days.

And now that he isn't sick, he got burned pretty decently.  I (being an idiot) put a bowl of hot tomoato soup too close to the edge of the table, and Trae pulled it over himself.  He got intense blisters all over his neck, hand, and arm.  It's mostly healed now (went through a gross green ooze/yellow peeling stage) and then he falls on a drawer and crashes his nose.  So currently he has a bruise and cut on the bridge of his nose.  Poor little guy.  He's been through a lot these past few months.

Since we got back from our trip to Florida, Trae has been much more attached/shy.  It's weird because he has never acted so, even though it is understandable.  He is more to his normal self now, except that he will actually cuddle/love me.  And I much prefer that! He will even let me rock him now! I am loving it.  I hope we keep it because he decided to hate being held and cuddled and being rocked at such a young age, I really never did get my "baby fix" with him.

Aaron is still EXTREMELY independent and we are really struggling getting him to eat anything lately.  He eats like 7 things only... cereal, eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, PB sandwiches, and mac n cheese.  Seriously that's it.  Anything else is a miracle and usually after much debating and bribing.  Usually ends with he has to take just one bite to try it before he screams he doesn't like it, he takes one bite, then downs the whole meal.  At least some of what he likes is healthy.  So pretty much we just eat breakfast all day long. :)  I am just waiting for the day Aaron asks why Trae is bigger than he is, and I am going to say "You never eat veggies and you never try new foods.  Trae eats everything, so his body grows."  Hee hee take that.  I can't wait.  It'll be a natural pay back (granted, even if Aaron ate everything he would still probably be smaller than Trae.  Shh... Aaron doesn't need to know this...)  Still loves to count everything in sight,  yell every letter he can see, and has become quite the back seat driver.  "Turn turn!  Go fast Daddy!  Red Light Stop!!  Green Go Go Go!"  He also hates Trae touching him in the car, which has turned into a game for Trae.  So that can get annoying of Aaron screaming "Stop it Trae!  No touch!  No Trae No!" the entire car ride, but we are hoping it fixes itself.  Not much we can do about it.  Not quite as annoying when Trae is giggling.  Then it makes everybody laugh, except Aaron (who continues to scream louder).

I can't keep up with teaching Aaron.  I really need to find him a preschool because I just can't get the job done with how smart he is and how busy my life is.  He knows almost all of his letter sounds now and is starting to sound things out.  Blows me away with what and how fast that kid picks things up... he still isn't even three!

And that's about it for our family (for now)!  And I don't have way current pictures of the boys.  Derrick has picked up a hobby of "building his own computer" and it's changed quite a few things around at the moment.  As in the harddrive with all of my pictures is not currently in the computer that is working.  Soon though! (Hopefully!)
Happy boy!

Aaron will sleep in the weirdest places!  Pulled out the infant tub from under the crib and made himself a bed.

Dumped pixie sticks and had a hayday licking his hands and dipping them. (Serves me right I guess for passing out on the couch while he was still awake...)

Presents on Christmas!  And miss that crazy hair!

CRAZY bed hair.  The picture does not do it justice, but didn't have the heart to take another picture when this kid is awake (again) in the night being sick.

Aaron wanted to feed Trae so badly this random night.  He would stroke his hair and hold the bottle.  It was funny yet sweet.

Locked in the "playroom" (more a storage room while redoing the basement) while the parents worked.

Aaron fell asleep while in time out in his room.  He was standing and leaning over my ottoman.  And he was out.  Like in 3 minutes.  That's one tired boy.

Trae's new favorite spot... LOVES to just watch out the window and talk to the cars driving by.
