Trae Elias Bunn

Trae Elias Bunn
Derrick took this!  Didn't he do awesome?

First trimester with Trae went even easier than it did with Aaron!  I had such a hard time believing I was even pregnant, even after the doctor proved it to me through an ultrasound!  I did get a little sick whenever I did the dishes, so I just avoided that and everything was golden.  (Thanks honey for always doing them!)  The third trimester, however, was horrible.  Trae felt SO HEAVY and I'd have painful contractions really close together starting at 20 weeks so I'd have to lay down.  And the contractions would keep me from sleeping the little sleep you can get at all being so pregnant and having a 1 year old running everywhere.  It was horrible.

On my way to the hospital!!
I ended up getting induced at 39 weeks because I was on almost 3 days of no sleeping and having contractions with no progression, so it wasn't looking like I was going to go on my own anyways.  My doctor called me at 9:30 am saying the hospital had an avaiable appointment at 11:00, and so I showered and packed and arrived all by myself!  The nurse was surprised and sad for me, but I didn't even think about being alone or care.  I wanted that baby OUT!

They had to keep slowing my labor down as I had to go at least 4 hours (and Derrick wasn't there! He just started a new job as a teacher and needed to get a sub...) and I made it!

Trae Elias Bunn was born January 25, 2012 at 4:31 pm.  He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz (I would have bet money that he was going to be huge... I was SHOCKED and confused that he is so big now...) and was 20 in long.  It took him a while to cry (ok, like 5-10 seconds) and it's amazing how your heart stops and you hold your breath until you hear them cry.  And then Trae only cried out once and merely grunted after that.  The nurse took him away to check out his lungs, and then brought him right back saying he was teasing us.  And Trae continued to grunt his first 2 weeks of life.  It was so cute!  And too short lived! (He definitely has a good set of working lungs now.)

He has hair!
Trae was an amazing baby.  There was an extremely rough time of my milk not coming in enough to suffice him, but other than those two weeks life was pretty easy considering a newborn.  I got so much more sleep with him than I did pregnant.  So it was nice to have the opposite problem than I had with Aaron.

Trae grew to be a chunker really fast.  He was back to his birth weight after 4 days and doubled that in less than 2 months.  I absolutely love having a chunky baby.  I didn't think I would ever get one with Derrick and I not being chunky babies or tall people.

Trae had such wide eyes all while he was little.  He was either sleeping or looking around like he was in a horror film.  And Aaron didn't help too much with his running, loud noises, and throwing everything in sight.  It was pretty comical.

Trae also wasn't the happiest baby.  For the most part, if he was awake he was crying.  But somewhere between 2 and 3 months, he became the most genuinely happiest baby ever!  I am glad it was short lived and that he is so happy now!

And here is the rest in pictures!

Trae even still has such poofy hair with lots of character!
