April 2012

So this is mostly another picture explosion... I guess that's what I do unless there is a specific event to blog about.  And it's mostly for my family that isn't near (We love you Auntie Candice!!) so sorry if you get bored before you get through all of the pictures. :)

Catch up on the family:
Aaron is learning new words everyday.  Recently it's been cracker, apple, and another.  Today especially EVERYTHING is another, as in another ball, another choo-choo, another blanket, another baby... and thank goodness we don't really have "another baby."  He loves the new bike trailer/stroller that we got; he freaks out every time we get him out.  Derrick even biked all the way to the post office and back with him!  It took an hour and it still wasn't enough time for him to be satisfied.
Trae is becoming quite the happy little guy.  He has even started to laugh!  I wish my videos worked on here, but Kodak doesn't play well with others.  I think he is outgrowing his fussiness as mostly now he only cries when he needs something (so nice!).  He even goes to bed at night awake and doesn't cry.  I just put him in his bed and he falls asleep on his own.  (Now that didn't come naturally... took lots of training, and I'm glad it's happening now instead of being like Aaron who still cries when I put him down every night.  Thought I'd do different on Trae.  We'll see how long it lasts, but he's doing great now!)
Derrick is so excited for summer.  He really does have a bad class.  Someone (not him) told his class that they were the worst class ever and every teacher agrees and talks about them in the faculty room.  Super wrong choice to tell them (Derrick's doing damage control today) but the teachers all do agree.  Poor guy on his first year, but he is learning super quick with them!  And even better he still has never thought he chose the wrong profession. :)  We are applying for jobs like crazy, but not ones that stand out really offer a job.  Alaska did, and (I know I shouldn't be so relieved) we didn't take it.  So we may just be here for another year!  Which really isn't bad for me as I love being around so much family!
There is nothing ever really new with me.  I am just home being a mom.  I am getting more and more into food storage/emergency prep, so Derrick now calls it my hobby.  It just feels so good and reassuring to be prepared for things that could happen really to anyone.  Especially with little babies, it feels really good to be prepared.

Major events of April:
My brother went on a mission to Charleston, West Virginia!  And he is doing SO good!  I love to read his emails, as he has always been quiet growing up.  So we'd go days growing up where he wouldn't say a word, and if he did it would be maybe a sentence.  So reading his emails as he is telling stories is just SO fun!  There are pictures below of sending him off.
Easter was so much fun, now that Aaron is a year older.  He understood what the egg hunt was and was super excited to find them!  I missed the big egg hunt as I was sick (no fun at all) and I wish Derrick took pictures or a video!  But we had Easter dinner at my grandmas house on Sunday and gave Aaron a play golf club set.  Umm... not the smartest gift.  The clubs are mostly used as bats and Aaron hits everything in site.  They are currently in hiding, which has not been the first time.
Aaron is turning 2 next week!  I can't believe how fast my time with him is just flying by.  We've started introducing the potty, but he isn't very interested.  I hope to do another push for it after his birthday.  I only had the energy to do so much with having Trae, but now I think I am ready for another go at it.  (It really is a lot of work for the parent!  No wonder parents put it off!)

Well, here are the pictures...

Put this on Trae as a joke, then Aaron WANTED it.  So funny!

The size of my babies when their Uncle "tay-tay" left!

Sorry it's blurry, but it's the only one with Shelley!  (Sorry if I butchered your name!)

Saying goodbye for two whole years!

First time being happy in the bumbo!

Tummy time again!  Apparently I like taking pictures at this time!

And Aaron always likes to help, which is not always appreciated by Trae.

Aaron got a kite for Easter, so we pulled it out on a windy day.

Aaron got a turn holding it...

And Derick ended up booking it as Aaron let it go right away.  He caught it right before the fence.

So we hooked it to Aaron's coat zipper, which made everyone happy.

I took out the trash and came back to Aaron trying to put a bag in it!  So cute!

Trae sleeping with his hands out crazy.

Having some fun on my bed.

I am so happy that these brothers are close in age.  I just hope they will be close friends as well.

Trae fell over in his blanket in the swing sleeping.  I thought it was funny.

6-9 month clothes!  Aagh!  He's growing WAY too fast!

This is 6 months too!

Aaron wanted a turn seeing Trae was having all the fun in the bumbo.

Happy baby!

"Papa" teaching Aaron how to golf.

Think it's nap time?  I found Aaron like this one day.

Trae has a super great bottom lip when he is sad.  I finally caught it on camera!

One day Aaron did not want to nap or stay in bed.  Found him like this.  He likes to push the line, and still be kinda "in" bed.  Apparently he was tired because he fell asleep still pushing the boundary of getting in trouble!

Same day same time, I found Trae like this.

Aaron actually sharing his favorite blanket!  It's a miracle!

My big-budda baby!

Getting ready for a bike ride!

Like father like son

"Helping" with laundry.  We put the laundry in, and Aaron worked so hard to carry this to me into the living room even though I didn't need it.  He's good at "helping' that way!

Aaron took over the pillow one day after tummy time.

I am currently switching out baby clothes so the boxes stored under the crib were out.  Aaron found  a new hiding place!  It took me a while to find him, and I even started to panic maybe just a little bit. :)

He climbed up on my bed all by himself!  He put his hands up and yelled "I did it!"

Rolly polly :)

Got an ice cream cone.

Running away from the camera little stinker

Trae's Two Months/Blessing

Oh how nice and BUSY the last two weeks have been with Derrick home 24/7.  I've really been spoiled and gotten lots of sleep, so I will sure be missing him when he goes back to school on Monday.

Trae had his two month appointment and did really well with the shots.  He didn't cry for very long (Aaron screamed FOREVER) and barely got a fever.  I did end up giving him some Tylenol because he seemed to be in pain, and after that he slept all day.  Which meant he was up more than usual that night, but acted just fine.  And thank goodness Derrick is home because I got to sleep in until 11:30 that day :)

Trae is a chunker compared to Aaron... He weighs 14 lbs already and is in the 87%.  Aaron only ever got up to 56% in weight.  They were born only 3 ounces apart, so I wonder if this difference is genes or just the fact that Trae keeps down his milk where Aaron spit up half of every feeding every time.  It's fun to compare siblings as they are clearly already so different even though Trae is still so young.  They really are born with their individual personalities.

We had Trae blessed on March 25, his two month birthday.  My little brother (who we dropped off at the MTC on Wednesday *sniff sniff* ) was able to be in the circle which was so fun to see.  Breakfast at our little apartment was kinda crazy, so I forgot to take pictures of really anything going on then.  But here are some pictures of Trae in his little outfit that I took before.  Notice the binky in like all of them?  The only way I could get pictures of him not crying... I did get two whole pictures of taking the binky out and taking a picture quickly.  Gotta love how creative you gotta be for baby pictures.

Funny this looks kinda like a smile... He was in reality getting ready to cry a big one lol

The best family picture we got... If I had know my feet were showing, I would have worn my shoes!

And some pictures on his two month birthday.  Gotta love those nostrils! He already knows how to flair them quite decently! ha ha

He was pretty tuckered out this day.
